Day 1 - Flight to DC

The alarm went off at 3:15am. That made for a very short night, considering I didn't fall asleep until around 12:30am. I was just too excited to sleep! But we were up and off to the Columbus airport by 4:00am. A huge THANK-YOU to Nicole's husband for dropping us off!! My last look of Columbus was quite lovely, with the sun just starting to rise. As the flight took off, I read the first of the daily Bible verse slips a very good friend made for me before I left. :) "Fear not, for I am with you; be not dismayed, for I am your God; I will strengthen you, I will help you, I will uphold you with my righteous right hand." Isaiah 41:10. The perfect verse to start this adventure. :)

We made it to DC! It was a ridiculously short flight. I had just gotten comfortable and into my book when the pilot announced we were beginning our descent. The flight was relatively uneventful, except when we were passing over a thunderstorm. But a little bit of turbulence just makes things exciting. :) I'm glad I had a window seat, because I just love to look out and see all the amazing cloud formations. God is certainly a talented creator. :) Now to grab a bite to eat and hang out in the airport until the flight leaves at 11:00am. Next stop, AFRICA!!

Much love,
Joslyn :)
