It was an early-ish morning today, with breakfast at 7:30am (omelette, toast, coffee, and papaya juice). Then the University of Gondar (UoG) car picked us up and we got to go to the actual university! The campus is really spread out, so we were mostly in the main academic building. Nicole taught her first of two communication courses, with Dan and I helping her out by showing examples of verbal and non-verbal communication. It was entertaining. :) They had a mandatory tea break between sessions, which was awesome. The tea was SO good, as was the sweet bread paired with it. Once the course was finished for the day, we went to this hotel up on top of a mountain for lunch. The drive up kind of reminded me of when I was in Argentina in a huge bus driving in the Andes mountains. Slightly terrifying, but with an amazing view. :) We got to eat outside on a beautiful patio overlooking the city of Gondar. I had something called Tibes, which is basically meat cooked with onions and peppers, and eaten with injera (the flatbread). Tibes is usually spicy, but I ordered the "Tibes Without Spicy" version. :) I didn't feel like trying to expand my spice-tolerance today lol. (But I'll work on it, Magaly!)
Shortly after we finished eating, it started raining. I'm not talking about a slight sprinkle. It absolutely down-poured. It even hailed a little bit! Needless to say, we had our after meal coffee and tea inside. :) After lunch, we went to the Veterinary Medicine Academic building to meet with the faculty who graciously agreed to help us with our focus groups later this week. The meeting was short and sweet, and we are now back at the hotel relaxing (and drinking more coffee) before dinner. Again, another GREAT day in Gondar! I can't wait to see what tomorrow brings. :)

P.S Today's verse is Romans 8:6 "For to set the mind on the flesh is death, but to set the mind on the Spirit is life and peace." :) :)
Love your posts and praying for an awesome time!
ReplyDeleteStrange. It looks just like some areas in Panama, those views from the top of the mountain....What's the Temp. like (and humidity)?
ReplyDeleteTemp has been 70s-80s with like no humidity! The weather has seriously been perfect! :) It will rain occasionally for a bit, but then it's right back to being sunny and warm!
DeleteOh wow, look at that Macchiato!! Yum! Love you and keep posting for us!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful scenery! And...I wish we had mandatory tea breaks in the United States. But since I'm going to be working from home, I could probably incorporate that into my schedule. ;)
ReplyDeleteI think you should have mandatory tea breaks :)
